The High Plains Library District provides free access to electronic book (eBooks) and electronic audiobook (Audio eBooks) collections. Browse, read or even download eBooks and Audio eBooks 24/7.
To access the eBook and Audio eBook collection you will need:
- A High Plains Library District resident library card
- A computer with access to the Internet.
- The appropriate software for the device(s) on which you wish to access the eBook or Audio eBook.

Browse or search thousands of great digital audiobook and eBook titles and download them to your computer; transfer them to a portable device or burn onto a CD.
An eBook is the digital, onscreen version of a published physical book. The format of the title is text-based, and some eBooks are interactive, with sound and hyperlinks. eBooks from OverDrive can be transferred to a variety of portable devices, such as PDAs, Pocket PCs, and Smartphones.
An OverDrive Audiobook is the digital version of a book on tape or book on CD. Patrons may listen to a spoken word audiobooks on their computers or transfer to a variety of portable devices, including the iPod®. Many audiobooks can also be burned to CD.
An OverDrive Media Console software download is required.
